This list contains many of the significant desert peaks in the southwestern United States. The majority of the peaks are in California, but there are a decent amount in Arizona and Nevada, as well as a few in Utah and Mexico. Many of the peaks have a lot of prominence are high points of various mountain ranges or other geographical areas. The peaks range in difficulty from tough, half day hikes to all day epics. A small portion of the peaks require technical skill to summit. It is not uncommon for the drive to the trailhead to be as difficult as the hike itself.
